New Verify Message Being Added to the AES July 28, 2010

Response Code: 856 Improbable ISO

**********************************************************************

On July 28, 2010, The Automated Export System (AES) mainframe will generate a Verify Message for all filers who submit a shipment containing one of the following International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Country Codes:

· Iran ‘IR’

· N. Korea ‘KP’

· Sudan ‘SD’

· Cuba ‘CU’

· Pitcairn Island ‘PN’

· Iceland ‘IS’

· Nicaragua ‘NI’

Reason: The ISO reported may or may not be valid for the country of destination.

Resolution: Verify the ISO code entered is the correct ISO code for the country of destination. Consult Appendix C of the Automated Export System Trade Interface Requirements (AESTIR) to determine the appropriate ISO code using the link below.
