The Import Customs specialist 

 Responsible for handling all aspects of preparing and filing entries with Customs and FDA (where applicable) for U.S. imports, including dealing with U.S. Customs, FDA, and USDA for product clearance and release.  
 
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Creates import file for shipment tracking and customs compliance purposes upon receipt of notification of U.S. in-bound shipments.

Files the entry with Customs and FDA (if applicable) via ABI.

Daily monitors the entry status of each current import shipment.
Completes all necessary Customs and/or FDA forms to obtain shipment release.

Processes daily duty statements.

Coordinates delivery of imports with in-land carrier.

Performs entry packet review for accuracy of information and duty rate.

Review all Liquidation Notices (CF4333A) and verify that amounts match actual duty paid to Customs by broker, and files Notice in proper import file.


SKILLS:
Required
Must be proficient in MS Office - Excel, Word, and Power Point.

Must have strong organizational skills to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Must have strong research and analytical skills.

Must be capable of working independently.

Must have excellent customer service skills.

Preferred
Knowledge of RB systems software ( plus)
Bilingual

 
EXPERIENCE:

Required
Must have at least 2 years employment experience with a customs brokerage firm handling import entries.

Must have knowledge and understanding of U.S. Customs Regulations

Must have OGA knowledge, specifically FDA and USDA.

Preferred
3 years employment experience with a customs brokerage firm handling import entries and product classification.
